    Georges’ own compositions are contemporary classical in style, with a minimalist edge. The harmonies are often more complex than other minimalist composers but the structural and melodic movement tends to merge into simple and natural shapes.

    As well as being a performing artist, Georges also offers private piano lessons in central London for suitable candidates. Although students can be of any age or playing ability, they must possess motivation and discipline. Georges is currently fully booked and not accepting new students. However, if you contact him you will be added to his waiting list and will usually be offered a trial lesson within 2 weeks of first contact. As a piano teacher in London, Georges does not offer home visits. Piano lesson vouchers can be purchased. A number of Christmas vouchers are available this month.

Other piano teachers in London give piano lessons in Maida Vale, Notting Hill, St. John’s Wood, Kensington, Chelsea, Angel, Paddington, Mayfair, Soho, Fitzrovia, Hyde Park, Green Park, Piccadilly, Park Lane, the City, Moorgate, Marylebone, South Kensington, Bloomsbury, Swiss Cottage, Covent Garden ,Waterloo, Earls Court, Regent’s Park, Knightsbridge, Holland Park, Belgravia, City of Westminster, Fleet Street, King’s Cross, Bayswater, Victoria, Southbank, Temple, and Little Venice. Piano teachers don’t always reside in these areas, but some travel to students’ homes. Some hire practice rooms in piano showrooms and teach there. Anybody can start learning the piano and as long as you have dedication and discipline, you will improve and perhaps reach a high level of performance. Like any activity or sport, practice makes perfect. Piano lessons are a great way to start because the teacher will show you the correct technique and having regular lessons provides goals and gives structure to your learning. Georges offers private piano tuition in central London and currently has a few vacancies. If you are interested in a trial lesson, email pianolessons@gsokol.com or call 0207 436 9609.

He takes on students of all ages and abilities, as long as they are keen to learn and prepared to practise between lessons. Although he is known for teaching advanced players, he also accepts complete beginners.

Tuition is on a one-to-one basis and takes place at his home in Fitzrovia, a 5-minute walk from Oxford Circus (see map below).

Scheduling and frequency of lessons are flexible. Most students have one hour-long lesson every week. There is no administration fee and advance payment is not required.
